3 nights of accommodation in a small dorm at Alice Lodge Backpackers
Day 1 or 2: Kings Canyon (Meals – L, D)
You will be picked up from your accommodation at 6:00am, first destination Kings Canyon. Enjoy a guided 3 hour hike through the sandstone domes of the Lost City. Visit the many Amphitheatres, North & South Walls and have a swim in the Garden of Eden. Next stop, Curtin Springs with toilets and showers where we set up our bush camp. Your guide will prepare a healthy camp-oven dinner. Relax around the fire then curl up in your cozy swag under a million stars.
Day 2 of Camping tour: Kata Tjuta & Uluru Sunset (Meals – B, L, D)
Feel the spiritual significance on your guided walk through to the Valley of the Winds at Kata Tjuta. Be shown bush tucker along the hike before heading to the Aboriginal Cultural Centre in the afternoon where you can listen to tales from the ‘Tjukurpa’ Dreamtime. We spend the evening enjoying dinner at the spectacular Sunset over Uluru. Witness the awesome sight of Uluru changing colour. We spend this night at the Ayers Rock Campground with toilets and showers.
Day 3 of camping tour: Uluru Sunrise (Meals – B,L)
Take in a memorable Uluru Sunrise over the World’s Largest Rock. You then have time to complete an optional Uluru Climb or guided Uluru Base Walk around Uluru. You will see beautiful sites such as the Mala Walk, Mutijulu Waterhole and Aboriginal Cave Paintings. We stop on the way home for an optional Camel Ride at the Camel Farm. You will arrive back in Alice Springs at approximately 5:30pm. Back to civilization, get cleaned up and we meet later with your Guide for dinner and a couple of beers in town.
Day 1 or Day 4
Pick up from your Alice Lodge backpackers at 7.45am.Spectacular Outback Scenery and photo opportunities await you as we travel along the magnificent West MacDonnell Ranges, stopping at John Flynn’s memorial, and beautiful walks at: Simpsons Gap, Standley Chasm (morning tea), the Ochre Pits, and Ormiston Gorge for lunch and walk or swim. Next stop is Glen Helen, and on our way back we call into Ellery Creek Bighole (where we usually have afternoon tea). Ellery Creek Bighole is one of Central Australia’s most pristine waterholes, so don’t forget your swimmers in the warmer months! As we drive back to Alice, you will see the Ranges “light up” in brilliant oranges and reds as we return into Alice at Sunset.

Alice Lodge Backpackers reserves the right to alter the itinerary of any of the tours and arrange alternative carriers to those advertised if necessary. No refunds will be given in these circumstances or in the event of any delay, curtailment or alteration of a trip resulting from any cause including severe weather conditions or mechanical failure.
A minimum number of passengers is required to operate each tour. It may therefore be necessary to cancel a scheduled departure and to offer an alternative or full refund for that tour. Alice Lodge Backpackers can’t guarantee pick up or drop off times and are not liable for passenger failure to connect with other services. We accept no responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings or baggage.
Alice Lodge Backpackers will charge the following fees in event of booking cancellations: Before 48 Hours -50% of Fare. 24 Hours – within 48 Hours-100% of Fare.
There is a $1 per $100 credit card levy when processing bookings.
What to bring :
Sturdy walking shoes (preferably ankle high), hat and sunscreen, towel and toiletries, swimming gear, warm clothing, water bottle, torch, insect repellent, fly net to cover your head if you are bothered by flies (outback tours particularly), camera and film, pillow, sleeping bag (can be hired from Alice Lodge for $10/tour;money for optional snacks you might want to buy.
